Head of Clinical Services

About the role:

Aiséirí provides addiction treatment for adults, young people and their families. Our adult residential centre in Cahir offers detoxification, a comprehensive holistic treatment programme and family support.

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our multidisciplinary team and oversee the day-to-day running of the centre. You will help ensure that clients and families receive compassionate, high-quality care throughout their treatment journey. The successful candidate will share Aiséirí’s values and ethos and be committed to the 12 Step model of addiction recovery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the client journey from pre-admission and detoxification through primary treatment and into recovery support, ensuring a client-focused programme aligned with best practice.
  • Manage the centre’s daily activities and facilities, ensuring services run smoothly and professionally.
  • Lead and support the multidisciplinary team, including regular supervision, performance goals, professional development and group supervision.
  • Promote a welcoming culture for clients, families and visitors. Apply clinical expertise when responding to complaints and managing challenging situations with care and compassion.
  • Participate in the Aiséirí management team, attend meetings and report to the Head of Clinical Services on activity within your area of responsibility.
  • Manage allocated budgets across funding streams, monitor expenditure and maintain positive relationships with funders and referral sources.
  • Build effective working relationships with external agencies, including the HSE, Probation Service and private health insurers.
  • Ensure adherence to organisational policies, ethical standards, CHKS accreditation requirements and relevant legislation.

Experience and qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience working with marginalised people and vulnerable adults, together with experience in a managerial role.
  • Experience in addiction, mental health and recovery services.
  • A working knowledge of the 12 Step Minnesota Model of addiction treatment.
  • Experience leading teams and supporting staff in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience managing budgets, monitoring expenditure and identifying potential new funding sources.

  • Integrity, honesty and the ability to build positive relationships with clients, families, colleagues, managers and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent IT skills and confidence working in an IT-rich environment.
